Mr Morton’s Barmy Book Featured in Pocket Casts’ “For Little Listeners”
Some rather lovely news has arrived at the Bookshop.
Mr Morton’s Barmy Book of Bonkers Bits has been featured in Pocket Casts’ “For Little Listeners” collection, a selection of podcasts chosen for younger listeners and their families.
Which seems exactly the right place for a podcast containing ridiculous stories, peculiar characters and considerably more nonsense than is strictly necessary.
Pocket Casts describes For Little Listeners as a collection of stories, science, jokes and “big curiosity for small ears”, for children listening on their own or together with the whole family.
And that last bit makes me particularly happy.
Funny stories for kids… and whoever happens to be listening too
I make Mr Morton’s Barmy Book of Bonkers Bits for children, but I’ve always wanted it to be something the grown-ups listening alongside them can enjoy as well.
It’s a children’s storytelling podcast full of original funny stories, silly voices, odd characters, curious questions and the occasional journey somewhere completely ridiculous.
The stories are aimed roughly at children aged 4–9, although the official Bookshop age range remains a highly scientific 4 to 400.
They’re made for bedtime, car journeys, quiet afternoons, the school run or any moment when somebody announces “I’M BORED” with enough force to shake the windows.
So seeing Mr Morton’s Barmy Book included in Pocket Casts’ recommendations for young listeners and their families is rather special.
